Privacy Policy
Introduction
Fix My Smile (“the App”, “we”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Fix My Smile iOS app collects, uses, transmits, and protects information when you use the App. We are committed to transparency and to complying with Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines, including the rules governing AI-related data sharing.
No in-app tracking • No in-app ads
Information We Collect
- Information we do not ask for: The App does not require you to create an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, contacts, advertising identifier, or precise location in order to use the photo enhancement feature.
- Photos You Provide: The only information you choose to provide is the photo or image file that you select for processing. Because an image may contain your face or other identifying details, we treat uploaded photos as personal data.
- How we collect it: We collect a photo only when you grant the App access to your photo library or choose an image and then actively start AI processing.
AI Processing Disclosure
- What data is sent: The selected photo or image file you choose to process, including the visual content visible in that image.
- Who receives it: The photo is sent to our backend server and then to Google Gemini API, which acts as our third-party AI processing provider.
- Why it is sent: Solely to generate the smile enhancement or photo-editing result you requested in the App.
Your Permission Before Sharing
The App sends a photo for AI processing only after you take an explicit in-app action to select a photo and start processing. No photo is transmitted to our backend or to the Google Gemini API unless you choose a photo and proceed with the AI enhancement request.
If you do not want your photo shared with our AI processing provider, do not start processing. You can decline, cancel, or close the flow before upload.
How Your Data Is Used
- When you initiate processing, the App securely uploads the selected photo to our backend server.
- Our backend forwards the photo to the Google Gemini API for AI-based modification.
- The modified photo is returned to your device.
Limited use only: We use the photo only to provide the AI editing result you requested. We do not use uploaded photos to build user profiles or to serve in-app advertising.
Data Storage & Retention
- No Long-Term Storage: Our servers never store your photos. Photos only exist in server memory.
- Temporary Processing Only: Photos exist on our systems only transiently for the duration of processing and are deleted from memory after the operation completes and the result is returned to your device.
Third-Party Services
To provide photo modification, we use the Google Gemini API. We share only the selected photo needed to complete the AI enhancement you request. We require third-party service providers that receive shared data on our behalf to use that data only for the requested processing and to provide privacy and security protections that are the same as or materially equivalent to those described in this policy. For more information about Google’s privacy practices, please review Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Choices
- Photo Control: You control which photos, if any, are uploaded for processing.
- If you do not wish a photo to be transmitted, do not select it or do not proceed with AI processing within the App.
Security
We use secure transmission (HTTPS/TLS) to protect photos in transit between your device, our backend server, and the Google Gemini API.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be indicated by updating the “Effective Date” above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
